Fran McGill

Fran McGill is a Partner and Head of Communications at Pershing Square, a leading investment firm with $30 billion of assets under management.

Pershing Square principally makes investments in a concentrated portfolio of high-quality, simple, predictable, cash-generative durable growth businesses. Pershing Square often works with its portfolio companies as an engaged and active investor to help create substantial long-term value. Fran directs strategy for Pershing Square’s global communications and government relations and serves as a senior advisor on strategic initiatives across the firm.

As an Adviser to The Carob Trust, Fran works closely with Carob on its various programs and overall strategy in service of its mission to revitalize core American principles and institutions. Fran also advises Pershing Square Philanthropies, helping shape strategy and execution across initiatives supporting exceptional leaders and organizations addressing critical challenges in health and medicine, education, economic development, and related areas.

Prior to joining Pershing Square, Fran was an Associate Vice President at Rubenstein Associates, a strategic communications and reputation management firm, where he represented hedge funds and private equity firms.

Fran received a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, from the S.I. Newhouse School at Syracuse University. He is an avid endurance athlete and has completed IRONMAN triathlons as well as numerous marathons and ultramarathons around the world.
